“The trip sounded good and would have been good if it had been as described: a 6-7 hour trip was actually an 11 hour trip. The beginning seemed good, we were picked up by private transport to the first Genote. We were supposed to have an English guide, but our driver didn't speak a word of English. After that, the driver took us to the Maya village for shopping and that's where the strange part began: We should have shopped here for over 2 hours. The trip was supposed to continue by bus, but no one knew which one and when. We were the last to be accepted onto a bus and continued on to Chichen Itza. There the group was split into two and we finally got an English speaking guide, who was really good. Chichen Itza was crowded but wonderful, everything else seemed very confusing. We left at 9am and were back in Valladolid at 8pm. More than half of the time was spent waiting, as we were joined by a big group from Cancun.”
